Hair Care Routine

I never usually talk about my hair, but since I've been featuring a few in my past favourites, I figured I should at least share with you some of the products I use! Just for background, I have quite dry, thick hair that likes frizzing up almost all the time, so I try to find products that would help address these. I also hate styling my hair (because its too hot for irons and I never have time -_-) so I usually just want it to be straight without the need of a blowdrier or iron. Its very lazy, and a huge contrast to how I do my make-up haha!

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Sulfate Free Shampoo

This is the most recent one I got out of everything. I rotate shampoos a lot because my hair gets used to them if I use it for long periods of time. I really like this because it doesn't make my hair feel squeaky clean right after, but definitely clean enough that it doesn't feel oily or grimy. It also leaves my hair feeling soft, which I've never gotten from any of my shampoos before. This also helps in keeping my hair clean for at least 2 days, which is an unusual feat for me. Plus, its sulfate-free!

OGX Scalp Therapy Australian Tea Tree Conditioner

I talked about this in my previous favourites post. I love the cooling effect on the scalp because of the tea tree! It also does wonders in conditioning my hair and taking away most of the frizz, making my hair really easy to brush through and go in the morning. Highly recommend this and others from the OGX line!

Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Total Damage Care 10 Conditioner

I snagged this from my Mom's bathroom, wanting to rotate conditioners, and was genuinely surprised at how well it worked! Usually Pantene products wreak more havoc than good on my hair and scalp, but this one worked so well at making my hair smooth and soft without waiting in the shower too long. Really great option in case you can't find the OGX one!

Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Hair Pack

I don't use hair masks that often, mainly because they always go missing in my house! When I do remember, I use this because its not overly greasy or oily that it leaves some product in my hair no matter how hard I try to wash it off. The softness and smoothness isn't as long lasting as I would prefer, but it does the job. It smells really nice, too!

Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Hair Essence

I've repurchased several bottles of this and I really like it! Its not concentrated Argan Oil, so too much won't leave your hair really gross and oily. I put this on either before or after I blowdry (I literally just blowdry I don't style XD) and the next morning, my hair is much smoother and straighter than it was prior. I alternate this with the next product, or when I remember to use it.

Argan Oil Intensive Hydrating Hair Treatment

My aunt got this for me in Ireland and it is much more concentrated than the previous product. Its so concentrated that I can never figure out the perfect amount! I wish it came with a dropper so I can better estimate how much I need, but when I do get the right amount, it really makes a difference! The amount of frizz in my hair reduces to almost zero, and I almost achieve wash and wear hair. This works best right after I finish blowdrying, as the heat in my hair makes it easier to absorb.

And that's it for me! If you have any more questions or comments, feel free to leave some down below, especially if you've tried some of these before, or if you have any recommendations!

April & May Favourites

Finally my favourites post time! If you didn't know, I decided to have a bimonthly favourites instead and I have to say I think I like it better. Within the course of two months I got a few new things that I really like, and I can't wait to share them with all of you!

I don't have any skin care favourites this time around because I've been using products from my dermatologist (gasp). I don't know if I ever mentioned, but I put off going to the dermatologist for a long time because I wanted to find a routine that would address my skin concerns on my own. It worked for a while, until my acne started getting out of control and nothing was working. I do have a hair product and (another gasp) a body product!

I do have to say that one favourite not included here is my old kit lens for my camera. I decided to try it out again after thinking it was broken and it gave much better quality images that my old lens! The only fallback is that I can only use manual focus, but I've read that its better than auto anyway.

Also - yay for the new background!

OGX Scalp Therapy Australian Tea Tree Conditioner

I mentioned the Kukui Oil variant in one of my impulse hauls last year, but I like this better because it does much more than the Kukui Oil one. It has reduced scalp itchiness (slightly tmi but its a very real concern XD) even when I don't use it every time I wash my hair while still leaving it smooth and easy to style (not that I do much styling). It also has a cooling effect, which is wonderful considering the 34~41 °C degree heat!

Too Faced Natural Matte Palette

Where do I even begin with this? Not only does this palette compliment my warm skin better than the mattes I had prior (aka the Naked 2), but the formula of these is the best that I've encountered! They're both pigmented and quite buttery, something I didn't think possible for matte eyeshadows. Expect a review of this soon!

MAC See Sheer talked about in depth here

April was the month that I really started getting and using lipsticks, and this is the one I reached for the most. Its a muted coral that is not too pink, too red, or too orange, and is really great for those who are adverse to strong corals like me, or those who want a hassle-free warmer lipstick!

NYX Powder Blush (Pinched) from this haul

I wore this with See Sheer and they made an amazing combination! Pinched doesn't only warm up the face but it also gives a lot of brightness. Again, I'm not the biggest fan of corals but I love this. This and See Sheer are some of the products that make me really excited to put on make-up!

Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub

If you're not a fan of sweet smelling scents, steer clear. If you are however, this smells like pancakes! I haven't bought a scrub in a loooong time, and I have never used anything as good as this. It leaves my skin really soft and moisturized, even if I don't follow it up with lotion. This is honestly so much fun to use and I have to limit myself to using this once a week in fear of running out!

K-Palette Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow Pencil review here

Second brow product that I really grew to appreciate and have turned to whenever I'm going to be out for a long day. The pencil has a very fine nib that's great for drawing on individual hairs, and the powder is for lazy days or for filling out large gaps. Read my review if you want more details!

Maybelline Master Conceal

I love that this blends easily, sets to a natural, seamless finish, and is quite pigmented considering the price. I find myself reaching for this more than my Make Up Forever Full Cover because it can be used both under the eyes and on blemishes, which makes it great for travel and taking around. It is slightly too light for me, but because it is blendable, it works well for me!

Also there are two new things that I got which will be in my next haul post!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! If you have any questions or if you're tried any of these products before, feel free to leave a comment below!

Impulse Buys #2

Hey everyone, and Happy Holidays!

I just wanted to share with you some of my impulse posts from the last month! All of these have been highly recommended by friends (two of which are because of Alex from The Red Eyeliner, who has been mentioned on almost every other post on this blog) and I thought I'd finally take the plunge and try them out. I've already tried all of them (oops) as of this writing and I'm pretty happy so far!

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

Everyone and their mother has talked about this queen of cleansing waters, and since I was running low on my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, and Bioderma has finally been released in stores, I figured I'd give it a try. So far, I'm loving how quick and easy it is to remove base makeup and a bit of eye make-up. It takes away the hassle that comes with cleansing oils, which makes it great for days when I'm too tired. It's not good enough to remove my mascara, but its a caveat I'm willing to overlook!

OGX Kukui Oil Conditioner

Another recommendation from Alex! I got to try this out when we were on a trip together with our friends and I really like how it isn't a greasy, heavy conditioner. It's also the only defrizz product that I  know of that really works! I have been searching for a conditioner that can defrizz and hydrate my hair without giving me dandruff (tmi, but this is always the case with me!) so I'm hoping that this will finally be the one!

EOS Lip Balm

This set finally went on sale so I got to purchase it and give some to my family. I've seen these on YouTube for years and have been curious about this uniquely shaped lip balm. I kept 'Summer Fruit' and 'Strawberry Sorbet' and I love the way they smell! I tried it yesterday and it was really lightweight but lasted me more than 3 hours, beating my Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment which is really good, but it takes a while to sink into the lips. I wish I tried these earlier so I could have given them as gifts to my friends!

And that's it for my haul! What about you guys? Did you have any impulse buys during the holidays? Feel free to share them with me below!
